Jon Kabat-Zinn is the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. This 8-week program teaches mindfulness to beginners, using practices such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, and the body scan. I received my Certificate in Mindfulness Based Interventions (MBI’s) from the University of Stellenbosch this month, and now will offer these wonderful programs to my patients. In this blog What is MBCT? , I wrote about MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy), which is a mindfulness-based program aimed at preventing depression from recurring.
